2022 Black Tern Red Wine
Winemakers Notes
Appearance – Deep ruby with a purple rim.
Nose – Good oak and tertiary aromas initially of cedar wood and leather, followed by ripe dark fruits of cassis and dark cherry and a little red fruit brightness. Very reminiscent of right-bank Bordeaux.
Palate – Big hit of fruit on the palate with a full mouthfeel. Fine but present tannins provide a good structure to this wine, and savoury charred wood notes are complimented by ripe dark fruit and sweet spice.
This old-world style red wine is perfect with roast red meats, earthy mushroom-based dishes, and strong soft cheeses.
